Back Country - 28.10.08

On the first weekend after my arrival Dave and Jen took me into the backcountry camping. Our neighbours own a property there, a quite large piece of land directly at the border to New South Wales.
I took the oppertunity to hike up the mountain ridge to enjoy the the wonderful view over the forests and Mountains of the great Lamington National Park. Finaly having reached the top I found myself in a forest with all sorts of animals including my first kenguru, which was sitting in a clearence and glanced at me before it bounced away.
Because the trees blocked all of the view I decided to climb one of them to take some pictures. I finaly made it (20m) only to find out that my batteries were dead. So here is my only shot.

I couldn't turn away from the beautiful sunset so when I came back to camp it was already dark. (Dave and Dave went looking for me beacause every year a number of people get lost in the park and die). The day ended as I was falling asleep under the wonderful starry sky.

The next day we went for a ride up a steep slope and finaly galloped all the way back. Fun.
